Publix where shopping is NOT a pleasure! I have been a loyal Publix customer for 28 years. I purchased the incorrect hair product for my husband and the incorrect Tyson frozen chicken breast from the Publix store at 2511 E. Atlantic Blvd on 5/08/15. I live within 2 miles of; 3 Publix stores, 2 Walmartโ€™s, 1 Aldi and a Whole Foods Market. I obviously have numerous choices on where I shop for my hungry family.

I tried to return the items for Publix gift card; I had planned on using the gift card for my days shopping. The return was attempted at the Publix at 411 S Cypress Road in Pompano on 5/09/2015 at 14:27. The initial encounter and cashier at Customer Service was a very unpleasant Bruce. Bruce told me he would not accept the hair product, I had a Publix receipt and product was unopened. I asked for a manager, he went into the office and said he was not there. I then asked about the Tyson Frozen Chicken product, he proceeded to aggressively rip open the bag with a razor blade knife and dump it in the trash. This product was completely frozen, never been defrosted and was also purchase the day prior and was on the same receipt as the hair product. I was SHOCKED at him throwing away the food; he said he could not take back perishables. I told Bruce โ€œhad I known he was going to throw away the food โ€“ I would have kept it and we would have used itโ€ Bruce was at this point , giving me less than adequate customer service and sparkling Joey decides he needs to put his opinion into the conversation.

I commented to both Joey and Bruce that I had other options for shopping, I could take my money to Walmart. Joeyโ€™s exact words were โ€œwhatever makes you happy.โ€ At this point, I apologize to the people waiting behind me and someone comment โ€“ it is not going well is it? I said no, I think I am going to Walmart. I have no choice but to take the cash back for the dumped chicken and leave with the hair product. Bruce and Joey may be suffering from service fatigue, but their customer service skills are atrocious and it certainly was not a pleasure!

I went back to the Publix at 2511 Atlantic; they take the hair product back. They notice the Chicken on the receipt. I share what happened and they were shocked. The store on 2511 Atlantic stated they cannot restock perishables, but the store donates to the Homeless Shelter. A much more sensible approach, I understand the legal issues with perishables โ€“ but to throw it away in an angry and aggressive manner is not excusable.

I will never step foot in 411 Cypress again and I will go out of my way to spread my groceries dollars to the other retailers in the area. As Joey so strongly suggested โ€œwhatever makes you happy.โ€ I know you have cameras, I was not happy โ€“ but I never did anything to make Bruce react aggressively or to make Joey snide and rude. These guys have service fatigue or just lack the skills for customer service. I thought Publix might like to know that shopping at 411 Cypress in Pompano is NOT A PLEASURE!

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.

Publix Cons: Customer service.

Location: Pompano Beach, Florida

You have a lot of growing up to do. I reported your husband to the police because he married a child(you) That is illegal for a grown man to marry a child.

The fact that you have a family with him makes me even more disgusted. It shows he had intercourse with a child(unless the children were adopted. Next time take a grown up shopping with you to make sure you get the right products. Not once did you take any responsibility for buying the wrong products which proves you are an three year old child.

They threw out the chicken because once food is sold they cannot resell it. I know you are just a child and do not think there are bad people out there, but there are bad people out there. People would tamper with the food which can make a person sick or even kill a person. In know you are a naive child but you have to know there are bad people out there.

Like you husband who is impregnating you when you are just a child.

You say you have other options for shopping. I am sure they were delighted to hear that comment. I am sure you will not be missed.

I just feel bad for the "other options" that have to deal with you.

You say you have been a loyal customer for 28 years which I doubt. The math does not add up. How can an three year old be a loyal customer for more than nine times the years of their age.

Even if you are an adult just acting like a child you are not very loyal if you boycott the whole chain for something that is YOUR fault.

Just because someone did not give in to your temper tantrum does not mean that their customer service skills are atrocious. I am sure it was not a pleasure dealing with an adult throwing a temper tantrum like some three year old child who was denied candy by her mother.

Stop lying, you obviously do not understand the legal issues with perishables. If you did you would not be throwing a temper tantrum about it. If someone restocked a perishable and one of your family members got sick or died from it you would be the first to complain.

Yeah throwing it away in an angry and aggressive manner is not acceptable, but if you actually are an adult your childish and immature behavior was not acceptable.

Remember one of the issues was you did not like the idea of them throwing the chicken in the trash. They cannot donate it to homeless shelters in case it was tampered with. Grow the heck up. For someone who is a "loyal" customer, for someone who is supposedly old enough to be married, you act as if you are three years old.

You acted like a three year old, when you did not get your way you threw a temper tantrum. That is what set Bruce off.

If you acted your age they would not have been rude to you, but it seems that you are mistaking being told no as rudeness which makes me wonder even more if you are in fact three years old. Again like I said, not giving in to your little temper tantrum does not mean the employees lack customer service skills.

When it comes to perishable food items being returned, there is always the chance that they had been allowed to thaw out, and then refrozen. and that could be the reason a customer would want to return them, for their own safety.

The store that would take them back and donate the items to a homeless shelter is putting themselves at risk because of the fact that the food could have been mishandled outside the store. It is your word against theirs. After this let your husband buy his own hair product.

If you don't know what product your husband uses, you don't know him very well and I don't understand how you could buy the wrong frozen chicken *** and not want to use them in some method. Something is wrong here, and I don't think it is the store.

I think she is lying about that store donating to the homeless shelter to make the first store look bad. If you look at her attitude in the whole review she is acting childish and immature just because she did not get what she wanted.

You are right, something is wrong here, and it is not the store. If she really were a loyal customer first of all she would not boycott them for something that was her fault The problem is an adult customer acting as if she is three years old.
