I work as customer service office staff at a publix in north Georgia. I bend over backwords for my employer and to ensure customers are leaving happy. Unfortunately I am left with no choice but to question every customer complaint and potential refund due to the amount...

Not only are many in management afraid to say boo because of a particular boss at one of the warehouses (I won't even mention where this is for fear of retribution to a loved one), but they allow one of their managers to get away with sexual harassment and many of...

Evelyn, if you have a ligitimate complaint and proof to back it up, then take it to their corporate office and repot it. I don't understand what good it does to vent this online or what possible advice you're looking for. Take your complaints to corporate!

Use to love the job but after being told that I wouldn't be eligible for a raise (after scoring very well on my review) because our district manager didn't like me!? and after working extremely hard last year to be able to obtain benefits (you have to maintain 1,500...

Publix does suck very big veiny hairy johnsons. They have some of the suckiest workers and management available.

Old fogies that wont give up the ghost. Old nasty old men and women that run Departments and work. I've had them intentionally block the time clock act *** and while doing everything the incorrect way. They never address any safety concern well.

They will write some people up and not others. Pay bad workers decent money and good workers nothing. Skinny kids telling older folks they cant be management. Big guys saying smaller guys cant be management Old guys saying younger guys can't be management.

Everyone has a reason the other can't all while they have the worst attitudes of all. To many chiefs to call the shots. They watch videos that are supposed to supplement osha safety or fda but they misconstrue the real way of doing things. I seriously don't know how osha and fda don't surprise inspect this company but will at walmart and windixie.

They have a daily fine and issue that is not addressed yet osha and fda are constantly in the news for busting walmart and winn Dixie. It's a travesty because the workers laugh at the real ways of doing stuff and are mostly not cut out.

PUBLIX DECATUR, GA #804

I AM A EMPLOYEE AND ALSO A CONSUMER OF PUBLIX SUPERMARKET. I WORK IN THE DELI AND HAVE BEEN DISCRIMINATED AGAINST BY NOT ONE BUT TWO MANAGERS AT THIS LOCATION. FOR BEING AN AMERICAN AND BEING A WOMAN. THE DELI IS NEVER CLEAN PEOPLE CONTINUUSLY THROW THINGS ON THE FLOOR. MEAT IS ALWAYS LEFT ON THE SLICERS AND THEY EVEN CUT MEAT ON DIRTY SLICERS SOMETIMES. I DONT DO THAT BUT MY CO-WORKERS DO. IF U COMPLAIN TO THE DELI MANAGER HE WONT EVEN LOOK AT YOU HE RAMBLES ON ABOUT THINGS NOT EVEN RELATED TO WHAT YOU COMPLAINED ABOUT PERSONALLY IM STILL TRYING TO FIGURE HOW DID HE EVEN BECOME A MANAGER.

you should go to your store manager

If things are as bad at your store as you say they are, the district manager and regional director would be very interested in hearing about it. A word of caution tho.

Better make sure you have documented with dates and times all the things you have seen and have a complaint about. Human resources is another avenue to go as well.

You don't necessarily need to quit your job, but if you are that concerned about the situation, feel justified in being discriminated against and have the proof, pursue it.

He probably became a manager by having proper writing skills, such as not typing all in caps. If you don't like your job quit and apply for another one.

However when you do don't write in all caps on your application form or resume it won't get you the job.

Don't put down coworkers in letters it won't get you anywhere. If you are this disgrunted quit after you found another job.

As a shopper in the Duluth Georgia area, I have frequented the Publix store at Duluth Station shopping center; and have been shopping there frequently over the past 10 years. I have noticed a huge difference, in a negative way, in about the last year or 2. The morale...

The store probably went from a SM that was way lax, to a hardass. What she's doing may not necessarily be wrong, she might just be cleaning house and hiring more efficient people, and fine tuning the ones who decide to stick around.

When people (like the ones you have talked to) feel mistreated, they tend to exaggerate situations. Publix is also a company of very high standards. I've always said that if Walmart was ran by Publix standards, Publix would be out of business. So that may be what the manager is simply expecting, higher standards from her employees.

Im kind of old school myself. I believe if you have a job, you should take pride in it and simply do your best every single day and you will be rewarded in kind. In doing your best, I mean the best In your company's and manager's definition. If it means doing a little bit more to meet your manager's definition so be it.

Its not kissing up, it's doing what you are paid to do. There are always options if what's requested of you is inhumane or beyond your want to do. Some people chose their option as leaving. I know this is lengthy, but I will end this by saying those employees who decided to stick with this manager needs to keep their emotions to themselves and share with the proper parties, not the customers.

It's unprofessional. These people who are talking to you about it are obviously the ones getting reemed by the new boss.

Can you guess why? They lack professionalism and probably think of work as an adult daycare.
