There is a big world outside of Publix. And with it a lot of opportunity.

Publix!

Writer of Publix #1150 is obviously just a disgruntled employee. I have shopped at Publix for many years and I worked for them for 10 years. Publix spends a lot of time and money to ensure cleanliness and quality. I have seen managers fired for less than that person's article claims. Sexual harassment is never taken lightly. If it was reported, trust me, there was a full investigation in to the matter. As far as bad produce or milk, maybe a mistake every now and then, but definitely not the norm, and I can assure you their quality far exceeds any other grocery store chain in the U.S. I can tell you from personal experience, Publix works hard at striving for perfection, but as we all know... Nothing is exactly perfect... If you want the closest thing to it in this business, shop at Publix, the extra 10 or 20 cents you spend is definitely worth it.

Yea but why is sexual harassment so prevalent in the Publix culture? It seems like every time you turn around some kid is getting promoted because some other kid is getting demoted or fired because they could not keep it professional.

I think I just stated the problem. Publix gives these KIDS with little to no life experience all of this pseudo-Publix power and pays them brain surgeon bucks on top of bonuses and benefits to run a little department, and sometimes even the store and it ends up going to their head. Their little minds don't yet understand the long term consequences to their short term desires of whatever little perky teen comes trotting out of high school for a summer job.

Then it comes down on them like the house of yugioh cards they still play with.

Publix stores are super!!

We have shopped numerous Publix Stores each year when we visit FL...and have yet to have a unpleasant experience. Our purchases cross the spectrum from sea food to canned goods and the product along with the store associates has been top shelf. I would bet this is a Company that works overtime in handling complaints...but then you will have some who will never be satisfied!!! To those not satisfied, I suggest you try elsewhere to be satisfied. Our friends have laughed when we stock up with some select Publix products that is under their label - a store chain with a label that has proved more than satisfactory to us. Don't change a thing, just keep on providing the excellent service, wide selection and handable prices. Ron & Dot in VA For us, we wish they were in VA/NC area. Ron & Dot in VA

Ron and Dot in VA.,

Thank you for those words about Publix. I have been a publix customer for almost 40 years. I just recently found out why the Publix brand is so good. It appears that Publix branded product is produced to meet or exceed the nation brands in quality and taste. For those that don't believe it, go to the eggs and open up a carton. Notice the thick shells, the uniform shape, the cleanliness. Check out the sodas. Heck! 71cents for a large soda that tastes great. Get one and try it.

So thanks for the great review. It's nice to see there are people that want to point out the good things. Oh! one more thing. Check out behind the counters. Notice that everyone is wearing gloves, and hair nets. I love the sanitary environment at Publix.

Publix Supermarkets

Publix did a accounting correction that cost the stock holders more than 8million dollars chain wide on the saturday before easter. They changed the way their weeks account for their payroll week by adding a extra day to the stores PNL 8 days to payroll. It just happen to be one of the days that you would use the most payroll on. Bad decision who ever made it, the stock holders will never see that 8 million again. Why I ask? no prior notice just a extra charge for that week. They say it was to get things matching up, well they didn't change the system the stores use for calculating their payroll or the way store accounting in the whse does their work, now every week accounting has to transfer out hours and transfer in hours to the stores PNL. How much payroll will be wasted on this procedure every week.

Publix is gaming their operating reports. AND, if the public knew the awful way this supermarket treated its staff, the public would BOYCOTT ALL Publix stores. The best and brightest folks at Px are all leaving to go to Kroger - or, they just quit in disgust!

Publix needs to clean the house starting with the board of directers all the way down to the managers in the stores and hire honest and good decent people that won't take advantage of their position.

:? I was very upset with that as well.

I'm not sure how strict your store is IPLH but that hurt our store bad. I was hoping that our store would look good on the P&L because of business that week and it looks like it hurt it.

Return for a refund! Throwing away the rotten food only perpetuates the problem.

Publix sold me rotten food this week … sweet potatoes, 1 out of 4 turned to mush in (3) days; bagged apples, half were mealy & rotten; I also have purchased shrimp that had an ammonia smell. All were returned for a refund.

Now I'm changing to ethical & more affordable food retailers. Publix was convenient until every trip meant another trip to return rotten food.

You are right, Publix at Miracle Mile is a danger to people in the community. There is blatant discrimination, Russ Reaver the district manager makes a mockery of discrimination complaints, and is one of the worst pin heads you'll ever meet.

This Treasure Coast Plaza store is riddled with incompetence, unsanitary food conditions, and dangerous employees. The store manager there is extremely trashy, yet thinks he something special.

According to multiple sources including WebMD, freezing vegetables has NO impact on nutrients what so ever. What do you think happens in nature when winter comes?

Do you think potatoes and carrots in the frozen ground suddenly have all the nutrients sucked from them?

This whole frozen vegetable rumor is *** and needs to stop. Frozen vegetables are just fine.
