Publix Thanksgiving Meal Review from Mary Esther, Florida
It is unfortunate but Publix pre cooked Thanksgiving dinner is what I consider below par. The butter ball turkey does have to be heated for an extended period of time but that is because it was previously frozen and then thawed.
That was not the problem. The side dish of both the cornbread dressing and the mashed potatoes were in a word "horrible". The mashed potatoes were so dry that I had to add pet milk and butter to make them edible. The cornbread dressing was too gummy and over seasoned with sage.
The gravy needed more seasoning and turkey drippings/broth to make it more palatable. Apart from the dark meat, the white meat on the turkey was very dry. You would think a company like Butterball who sells thousands of turkeys each year would know how to cook a turkey. The only really delicious "side" that did not have to have to practically be remade was the orange and cranberry sauce.
That was a thumbs up! Bottom line, do not waste your money on the Publix precooked Thanksgiving turkey dinner.
Reason of review: Bad quality.
