I always check the price of meat that Publix has on sale. On several occasions they have had a higher price on the labels than what is advertised.

When I brought this to the attention of the meat clerk, on each occasion he put the right price in the package I wanted, but even though I showed him that the other packages were also overpriced, he did not change them, hoping other customers would not notice.

I am sure the manager of the store approved this.

Publix prices are outrageous enough without trying to cheat unsuspecting customers. Watch out, publix shoppers.

Monetary Loss: $8.

I agree, just had the same experience. Publix tries to trick it's customers and charges almost double the price of other store. I have always been a loyal Publix customer but no more.Shame on them.

I just bought a mini ham from the Publix on Commercial Blvd in Oakland Park. The sign said it was on sale for 2.00 off a pound.

Got it rung up with other items and went home. $10.58 was the price. Did the math and found I was over charged. Went back...they checked it out...refunded the cost.

They gave it to me for free !!!

Outstanding policy and customer service. Thank you !!!

I would imagine now that Walmart is honoring their BOGO deals, if they were increasing any prices prior to a bogo sale, that will stop.

I have never seen that at any of the three Publix stores that I shop in here in Georgia. If anything the price has come up wrong on the register where they IMMEDIATELY give me the Publix Promise and I'll get that item for free.

As for the comment about Publix increasing the price of an item before putting it on a BOGO sale...they do that at EVERY retail store...grocery or not.

Macy's, Sears, Dillard's, Belk, etc.

ALL increase the base price of an item before putting it on sale. It's the nature of the beast of retail.

I sometimes notice that their sales price in North Florida will go up for a sale when they have BOGO (buy one get one free) items, so that you still pay a good extent of the cost when combining the sale with a coupon. It's still a good deal but annoying.

I've never had this kind of experience at Publix. I'm always impressed by the quality of the produce and service and these stores!

But I like Lauren's suggestions, they sound perfectly reasonable to me. If the pricing becomes a repeat problem, bring it up to the store manager. As a frequent shopper of their store, I'm sure they'll do everything possible to please you and fix the issue.

What I didn't know is that there's a "Publix Guarantee" that kicks! Good to know, I'll keep that in mind if this happen to me and take advantage of getting free merch! Every little bit helps.

As a Publix employee, you need to speak to the STORE manager and tell him/her that this happens repeatedly.

Also, when it rings up wrong at the register, if it's not the right price, the Publix Guarantee kicks in -- it's FREE if it's not tobacco or alcohol.

Many employees will just try to "price adjust" it but point out that you want the PRICE GUARANTEE. If they can't get it right, you should get it for free.

The free stuff comes out of their bonuses which is why they don't want to give it to you free. Too bad -- get it right!
