I have worked for Publix for 3 years, what a crock of

***, the politics in that company. It's true that you have to be sucking someone's *** to get anywhere. i was sent to another location to help, I was belittled , and screwed with. A complaint to the store manager was met with " What do you do with someone who has great numbers, but no people skills". I was shocked. to say the least the next time they ask me to help somewhere, they can stick it. The clincher was on my review, It said I am not a team player!

If you know it all, you're likely not a good employee. If you believe you know it all, you're likely not going to be a good manager.

This Neal Summers guy is such an a** kisser!!!! Must be one of those pieces of s*** managers that know we are right, because you are wrong!!! You would not be disagreeing with everyone who has had problems with managers who lack communication. A good store is run by good management. You wouldn't know what that is.

I'm with you on this one! I was at the company for 7 LONG YEARS!!! Let me just tell you, a lady at corporate told me when I put my retirement in, she said its all who you know, not what you know! Pretty F****D up.

I worked at the corporate office in HR for over three years. Great place to work?? The "supervisors" were 19, 23, and 27 years old. Enough said about that. Just to let you store employees know...after three years and great reviews...I was earning a grand total of $11.75 an hour. To top that...I was FIRED on December 15th (you know what that means...they honestly believed that I would give them back the Christmas bonus I was paid and the vacation pay that had obviously been used with less than two weeks left in the year). They actually had what I believe to be a collection agency send me some threatening letter. Guess whether or not they got a penny of that back. Grand finale.....reason for termination: attendance issue. Get this...I was on FMLA...a FEDERALLY backed policy for prevention of loss of employment due to health issues. I could have SUED THE *** out of their sorry *** and DIDN'T (my mistake, in retrospect), and they actually had the nerve to think I'd repay my vacation and holiday bonus that I'd already earned. Bite me, and choke on it a-holes. Not that it matters, but bear in mind that although I usually missed a day of work a week, I still managed to get my forty hours in and ALL of my workload completed, PLUS....assisted several slacking "team members" on a REGULAR basis. The way I see it, they got MORE out of me productivity wise than the slackers that were able to drive in to work five days per week, who sat on their *** or socialized with others for at least 1/2 of each work day. Seems to me like they shot themselves in the foot. Perfectly fine with me. They KNEW what they did was illegal. I was fine with sitting home and collecting the unemployment that they didn't even TRY to fight (again, because they knew what they did wasn't even LEGAL), only to get tired of sitting home and moving on to a job where after over three years there....I am making more than $4.00/hr more than I made with Publix, plus ALL of my insurance is 100% free...and our "bonuses"...are real bonuses. Four times per year, and we are not talking a week or two worth of pay. I made over $10,000 this past year in bonuses alone. December 15th was the best day I ever spent at that joke of a "career". Open you eyes people. Unless you are one of the "good ol' boys" or world class *** kisser...you are unlikely to get anywhere. Good luck to the ones who don't feel they can leave.

If you're going to lie about something, at least make it believable. Health insurance is not $200/wk. it's $200/month for employee and family. I've never seen Publix begrudge someone a break. Ever. As for coming in at 5am, most decorators whine if you have them come in later.

Perhaps all of you that are so unhappy should find employment elsewhere. I have been with Publix for 10 years and they have been great to me. Maybe it is not the job, but the person holding that job. Maybe you are not as good an employee as you think you are.

Health insurance is not even close to $200/wk. for a family. Got any more false information?

Publix is the worst ever.I was a cake decorator for 12 yrs,and oh boy did we get *** on.They want u to come in at 5 or six and get stuck there for 10 to 12 hrs, because they dont want to hire anybody. And the people who they do hire dont speak english or suck at decorating. So that means the good people get stuck...And to top it off,if you want to take a 15 min brk during your 10 to 12 hour work shift they wanna look at you funny. And their benefits ha you should get out the health insurance prices...TERRIBLE for being such a wonderful place to wrk. It's almost 200.00 a wk for emplyee and family.I left there a year and a half ago.And I made the best move ever...
